YACHTING IN NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand has always had a very strong connection to the sea and made its economical activity dependent of it.  Auckland for example, is often called the “city of sails” where there are more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world. Yachting grounds are packed with fascinating landscapes ranging from long sandy beaches to monotonous rivieras featuring water falls within many natural protected harbors and coves.

The Māori culture was the original settlers of New Zealand. This group of Polynesian origin played a strong role influencing the culture of New Zealand and they had always payed high respect to the kiwi bird which is native of New Zealand and accounts to its national symbol. Nowadays the people of New Zealand is called Kiwis too, that together with the kiwi bird and kiwi fruit, finds three different denominations in this country for the same word.
